The main event of the evening will be for the Strikeforce Welterweight Title as Nick Diaz puts his belt on the line against challenger K.J. Noons. This fight will be a rematch from their previous fight for the now defunct EliteXC promotion. Noons won the first meeting via doctor stoppage. Both of these fighters have made it clear that they do not like each other. In recent interviews, both fighters have stated that they do not like the other, and that they want to go out and knock their opponent out. Cavalacante also has good stand up to go with a solid ground game. He will attempt to over power Thomson in the clinch and out strike him in the pocket. The televised portion of the event will open in the welterweight division as Andre Galvao takes on Tyron Woodley. Galvao is a world class jiu jitsu practitioner and will need to use his ground skills to slow down the pace of Woodley.
