John Alessio and Josh Neer will headline Superior Cage Combat 2 on August 20, 2011 in Las Vegas.

Both Alessio and Neer are veterans of the UFC and this is a must-win fight for both fighters if they hope to get back to the big leagues.  Neer is riding a two fight win streak with wins over Andre Kase and Jesse Finney and plans to make it three in a row, while Alessio is coming of a March loss to Siyar Bahadurzada in Belgium.

UFC 131 changes again as Mike Massenzio replaces Igor Pokrajac and steps in to face Krzysztof Soszynski.

Massenzio is the third opponent that Soszynski is scheduled to face for this event. Originally, Soszynski was to fight Anthony Perosh, but Perosh was forced to pull out due to injury.  His next opponent was supposed to be Pokrajac before he was forced to withdraw.  This fight is scheduled for the unaired preliminary portion of the event.

Kampmann is forced to pull out of UFC Versus 4.  Card now has Brown vs Howard and Attonito vs Roberts.

UFC on Versus 4 was originally supposed to be Martin Kampman versus John Howard, and Matt Brown was supposed to fight Rich Attonito.  The UFC was forced to make some changes with Kampmann’s injury, and Brown was quick to step up an replace.  The UFC then decided to bring in Daniel Roberts to fill the opening left by Brown.  Even with the multiple fight changes, this card should still be stacked.

UFC to air UFC 131 Prelims on Facebook.

The UFC will continue its trend of finding ways to air the preliminary portions of their events and UFC 131 will  be no different.  The UFC will air the first five fights of UFC 131 on its Facebook page.  In order to participate, go to the UFC’s Facebook page and click on the “like” icon.

Carlo Prater and Cameron Dollar will Headline Legacy Fighting Championships HDNet Debut.

Carlo Prater and Cameron Dollar are both veterans of the UFC and the big stage, and they will meet in the main event of Legacy Fighting Championships to determine who gets to continue their quest to get back to the UFC.  Dollar, a former cast member of The Ultimate Fighter, has won five straight fights, all by first-round submissions.  Dollar will have his hands full though, as he faces a very tough competitor in Prater.
