Overeem vs. Werdum earns second-highest ratings all-time for Strikeforce broadcast on Showtime Strikeforce’s June 18 event earned a 1.7 household ratings, an average audience of 624,000 and peaked at 719,000 viewers. Those numbers were good enough to place the event second all-time among the promotion’s shows on the premium cable network. Four of Strikeforce’s top five rated shows on Showtime have come in 2011. SOURCE: MMA Junkie All UFC 131 fighters earn medical suspensions from Vancouver Athletic Commission The Vancouver Athletic Commission didn’t want to leave anybody out. The sanctioning body issued suspensions to all 24 fighters who competed at the June 11 UFC 131 event. The list is as follows: Nine-day suspensions: Junior dos Santos, Kenny Florian, Mark Munoz, Donald Cerrone, Sam Stout, Jesse Bongfeldt, Krzysztof Soszynski, Nick Ring, Dustin Poirier, Joey Beltran and Michihiro Omigawa. 30-day suspensions: Demian Maia, Jon Olav Einemo, Dave Herman, Vagner Rocha and Mike Massenzio 45-day suspensions: Darren Elkins, Aaron Rosa, Chris Weidman, Yves Edwards and Diego Nunes 60-day suspensions: Shane Carwin and James Head 180-day suspension: Jason Young (can be reduced to 45-days if x-rays come back negative) SOURCE: Sherdog Photo: Josh Barnett choke Brett Rogers (Strikeforce)
