Jeremy Stephens meets Anthony Pettis at UFC 136

Lightweight striker Jeremy Stephens will take on former WEC champ Anthony Pettis at UFC 136 on Oct. 8.

The fight is expected for the event’s preliminary card.  The main card features a pair of title fights and take places from Houston’s Toyota Center.

Carlos Condit vs. B.J. Penn official for UFC 137 in Las Vegas

UFC President Dana White has confirmed a welterweight collision between Carlos Condit and BJ Penn.  The fighters originally arranged the bout on Twitter.

UFC 137 takes place Oct. 29 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.  The night’s main card is headlined by a welterweight title fight between champ Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz.

Dennis Siver vs. Sam Stout planned for UFC 137

German striker Dennis Siver will return to action against Canadian Sam Stout at UFC 137.  Both fighters are coming off recent wins.  Siver took a close decision from Matt Wiman at UFC 132, while Stout earned a knockout over Yves Edwards at UFC 131.

The evening’s main card airs on pay-per-view. It’s currently uncertain where the Siver vs. Stout matchup will fall on the night’s schedule.

UFC announces sixth installment of Versus events

After announcing a number of fights for previously announced pay-per-view events, the UFC revealed an additional October event will be taking place.  UFC on Versus 6 is set to feature a lightweight rematch between Mac Danzig and Matt Wiman, as well as a welterweight bout between Charlie Brenneman and Anthony Johnson.

The date and location for the event were not announced, however rumors indicate that it will take place from Washington, D.C., on Oct. 1.

Canadian welterweight prospect Jordan Mein signs multi-fight deal with Strikeforce

Prospect Jordan Mein (22-7) is Strikeforce-bound.  Mein has signed a four-fight deal with the organization and is expected to debut at an as-yet-unannounced Sept. 10 event.

Mein’s opponent has yet to be determined.
