UFC 138 will be in the United Kingdom on November 5th

The UFC will make its triumphant return to the United Kingdom this November in Birmingham, England.  The card will host the first ever scheduled non-title five-round main event between Chris Leben and Mark Munoz.  Bantamweights Brad Pickett and Renan Barao have also verbally agreed to fight at the event.

The card will be broadcasted on Spike TV and Rogers Sportsnet in Canada.

Bellator 48 Fight Card Coming Together

While it was known that Bellator 48 would feature Ricco Rodriguez vs. Seth Petruzelli, Cole Konrad squaring off against Paul Buentello, and the finals of the featherweight Summer Series tournament, the rest of the card has been announced:

Lightweight: Rene Nazare vs. Juan Barrantes
Middleweight: Dan Cramer vs. John Clarke
Lightweight: Andrew Calandreli vs. Matt Nice
Welterweight: Brett Oteri vs. Ryan Quinn
Light Heavyweight: Nik Fekete vs. Mark Griffin
Featherweight: Saul Almedia vs. Tateki Matsuda

Bellator 48 will be held on Aug. 20 at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut.

Aaron Simpson set to take on Nick Catone at UFC 136

More matchmaking news, as Aaron Simpson will square off against Nick Catone in Houston at UFC 136.  Both fighters are coming off of two-fight winning streaks where Simpson defeated Brad Tavares at UFC 132 by unanimous decision and Catone defeated Constantinos Philippou at UFC 128, also via a unanimous verdict.

Sept. 10 Strikeforce card adds a new fight

Light heavyweight prospect Marcos Rogerio de Lima will make his promotional debut against Mike Kyle at Strikeforce’s Sept. 10 card.  De Lima holds a professional record of 8-0 with seven stoppages.  Kyle lost in his last fight to Antonio Silva in December while fighting at heavyweight.

The Sept. 10 card still does not have a scheduled city to host the card, but it will air on Showtime and have the semi-finals of the heavyweight Grand Prix.

Matt Hamill vs. Alexander Gustafsson to air on Spike TV prelims at UFC 133

With the bout between Rich Franklin and Antonio Rogerio Nogueria scrapped from UFC 133, the match between welterweights Dennis Hallman and Brian Ebersole is now on the main card.  That left a hole in the Spike TV preliminary bouts, which has now been filled with Matt Hamill vs. Alexander Gustafsson.

New MMA Promotion “ONE Fighting Championship” announces a Co-Main Event of former UFC fighters for its first card

Singapore will host the first-ever fight card for ONE Fighting Championship, a new promotion which will debut on Sept. 3.  The Co-Main Event will feature former Pride and UFC fighter Phil Baroni taking on UFC and Bellator veteran Yoshiyuki Yoshida.

Baroni won in his most recent bout at Titan FC 17 in March, while Yoshida has lost his last three fights.

Cung Le looking to land a fight with the UFC

While Cung Le has been busy over the last couple of years filming movies, he has managed to enter the Strikeforce cage three times since 2008.  Le’s last bout came last June where he defeated Scott Smith in a rematch of their December 2009 fight.
Lee will be in several movies to be released in the next few years, namely in “Tekken” which is in stores today.

With the news of UFC 138 being held in San Jose, Calif., this November, Le said that he “would definitely be open to fighting on that card.”  There is no official word as to whether or not he will be on the card.
