Andre Winner Joins BAMMA, 8 Fights Added to BAMMA 7

After signing a multi-fight contract with BAMMA, veteran of TUF Season 9 Andre Winner will take on lightweight prospect Jason Ball at BAMMA 7 on Sept. 10.

A total of eight fights were added to the event and are as followed:

Andre Winner vs. Jason Ball

Tim Newman vs. Shane Omer

Dale Hardiman vs. Scott Jansen

Danny Compton vs. Pindi Madahar

Eugene Fadiora vs. Robert Devanne

Lee Taylor vs. Tom Breese

Richard Walker vs. Shah Hussein

Robert Krecicki vs. Fraser Opie

BAMMA Launch British Title

Along with the eight announced bouts for BAMMA 7, a title fight has now been added to the event.

BAMMA announced today their first ever British Title with a middleweight fight between Jack Marshman and Carl Noon.

The organization will attempt to put a British Title in each weight class, along with World Titles. But instead of 5 x 5 minute rounds like World Titles, British Title fights will consist of 3 x 5 minute rounds.

UFC Fight Night 25 main card set with four fights

September’s “Battle on the Bayou”, which airs on Spike TV, is now set.

UFC personel announced this morning that in addition to headline fight, Jake Shields (26-5-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) vs. Jake Ellenberger (25-5 MMA, 4-1 UFC), UFC Fight Night 25 will also feature Court McGee (13-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) vs. Dongi Yang (10-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC), Jonathan Brookins (12-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) vs. Erik Koch (12-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Alan Belcher (16-6 MMA, 7-4 UFC) vs. Jason MacDonald (25-14 MMA, 6-6 UFC).

UFC Fight Night 25 takes place at the New Orleans’ Ernest N. Morial Convention Center on Sept. 17.

Amanda Nunes vs. Alexis Davis Latest Addition to Strikeforce Card Sept 10

A fight has been added to the upcoming Strikeforce card in Cincinnati, OH as Amanda Nunes and Alexis Davis will square off in a women’s bout.

Nunes returns after being sidelined due to injury. Now healthly, she hopes to add another win after defeating rising star Julia Budd earlier this year.

Her opponent will be Alexis Davis (10-4), who is coming off a win against Julie Kedzie at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson.

The contest between Nunes and Davis is expected to be apart of the prelim card of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix semifinals.
