The UFC may be headed to Fox

While Dana White will neither confirm nor deny that a deal has been reached, reports are saying that the UFC has agreed to a deal with Fox.  The deal will last for seven or eight years and it will mark the first time in the company’s history that it will have a regular time slot on network television.

If the deal happens, starting in Jaunary FX will get “The Ultimate Fighter” among other various UFC programing.

Source of death of standout MMA coach revealed

While the laws of Ontario are set to keep autopsy information private, the cause of death of MMA coach Shawn Tompkins was revealed today.  Sam Stout, Tompkins brother-in-law, said today that he suffered a heart attack.

Tompkins, 37, passed away on Sunday.

Gleison Tibau and Rafael dos Anjos to meet at UFC 139

A lightweight fight between the two Brazilians is scheduled to take place this November at UFC 139.  Dos Anjos defeated George Sotiropoulos in his last fight at UFC 132, while Tibau has recently won two straight fights in the octagon.

UFC 139 is scheduled to take place on November 19, 2011 in San Jose, Calif. and will feature the heavyweight championship fight between Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez.

The Arm Collector” signs with Bellator

Bellator announced today that they have signed top Brazilian middleweight Giva Santana.  Having won 12 of his fights by armbar, he was dubbed “The Arm Collector.”  The Brazilian holds a 16-1 record and has finished 15 of his 16 fights, 13 of them in the first round.

Bellator signs Russian Rasul Mirzaev

Holding a perfect 5-0 record, Russian Rasul Mirzaev has signed a deal with Bellator.  The “Black Tiger” has fought three times in 2011 and has earned three victories by stoppage.  The move looks to further solidify the promotions featherweight division.
