Sam Stout out, Donald Cerrone in against Dennis Siver

Lightweight Sam Stout has withdrawn from a planned UFC 137 bout against German-based Dennis Siver.  No reason was given for Stout’s removal, but in his place steps former WEC fighter Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.

Both fighters are riding lengthy win streaks, but one of them will come to an end on Oct. 29 when the pair meets in Las Vegas.  The event will be headlined by a welterweight title fight between champ Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz.


Julie Kedzie forced off Strikeforce Challengers 19

Julie Kedzie has been forced off the Strikeforce Challengers 19 card due to an undisclosed injury.  No replacement has been named at this time.

Strikeforce Challengers 19 takes place Sept. 23 from The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas, and its main card airs on Showtime.


Paul Daley faces Luigi Fioravanti at Ringside 12 in Montreal

Strikeforce welterweight Paul Daley has signed on to face American Top Team fighter Luigi Fioravanti in the main event of Ringside 12 in Montreal.

Ringside announced the fight on Monday as the main event for its upcoming card.

Daley will be fighting twice in just over a month, as he will also be competing on the Sept. 10 BAMMA 7 card.

The full card for Ringside 12 is expected to be released on Tuesday.


Nunes Confirms UFC 135 Exit, Awaits Gamburyan in December

Previously scheduled to compete on the main card of UFC 135 “Jones vs. Rampage,” featherweight contender Diego Nunes will wait a little longer to return to the Octagon.

Nunes’ original opponent for the Sept. 24 event in Denver, Manny Gamburyan, announced his withdrawal from the bout on Aug. 15 due to a shoulder injury. Along with his team at Nova Uniao, Nunes decided not to accept another matchup, citing injuries and personal problems.
