In a fight that made Sherdog’s list of 10 August Tussles Worth Watching, UFC veteran Ronys Torres (20-4) earned a unanimous decision over Akbarh Arreola (19-6-1)…WEC veteran Glover Teixeira (15-2) scored a first-round knockout of UFC and MFC vet Marvin Eastman (17-14-1)…Recent Dream addition Rodolfo Marques Diniz (13-1) claimed a unanimous verdict over ShoXC veteran Jesse Brock (13-6)…Hacran Dias (19-1-1) made a successful featherweight debut, submitting Eddie Hoch (7-3) in the first round via rear-naked choke…Pride veteran Johil de Oliveira (15-13-1) scored a second-round doctor’s stoppage TKO of Haroldo Bunn (3-5)…Felipe Olivieri (10-3) also forced a second-round doctor’s stoppage to earn the TKO in his battle with Cesar Augusto (7-7)…The event was modeled after the UFC’s Fight for the Troops series and benefits Rio’s military police special forces.

Cage Fighting Championship 18: Juarez vs. Rodriguez (Sydney, Australia)

Strikeforce and Bellator veteran Jesse Juarez (16-7) successfully defended his CFC welterweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Manuel Rodriguez (8-2)…UFC and IFL veteran Antonio McKee (26-4-2) secured a rear-naked choke in the first round to submit Jai Bradney (13-7-1)…Robert Whittaker (7-0) remained undefeated with a second-round armbar submission of Corey Nelson (9-2).

Deep: 55 Impact (Tokyo)

Levan Razmadze (black and red trunks) vs. Kazuhisa Tazawa

Former Sengoku lightweight champion Mizuto Hirota (13-4-1) captured the Deep lightweight crown with a unanimous decision over defending champion and Dream veteran Katsunori Kikuno (15-4-2) in a fight that made Sherdog’s list of 10 August Tussles Worth Watching…Featherweight champion Koichiro Matsumoto (13-3) retained his title with a second-round corner stoppage TKO of Tatsunao Nagakura (6-2). Matsumoto retired following the bout in order to pursue a career in comedy…Levan Razmadze (4-0) claimed the Deep Megaton (super-heavyweight) title with a first-round keylock submission of defending champion Kazuhisa Tazawa (7-2-1)…Pride veteran Ryuta Sakurai (22-16-6) scored a second-round TKO of Dream veteran Katsuyori Shibata (4-11-1)…Amanda Lucas (2-1), daughter of “Star Wars” creator George Lucas, locked in an armbar to submit Hikaru Shinohara (6-8) in the first round. Shinohara refused to tap, but her corner threw in the towel to end the contest.

Pride veteran Joe Pearson (38-17-1) picked up a win at the event.

ProFC Grand Prix Global: East Europe (Kishinev, Moldova)

Laszlo Soltesz (19-3) entered the middleweight bracket as a late replacement, but ended up winning the division’s one-night tournament with two first-round stoppages. Soltesz eliminated Tomas Penz (5-5) in the semifinals via rear-naked choke before defeating Denis Gunich (3-5) by way of guillotine choke in the tourney finals.

King of the Cage: Kingpin (Lubbock, Texas)

Tim Means (14-3-1) submitted Cody Pfister (4-3) via first-round choke.

ProElite: Honolulu Hawaii (Honolulu)

Kendall Grove vs. Joe Riggs

UFC and Strikeforce veteran Andrei Arlovski (16-9) scored a third-round TKO of Ray Lopez (5-3)…TUF 3 winner and UFC veteran Kendall Grove (13-9) needed just 59 seconds to lock in a standing guillotine choke and submit UFC and Strikeforce vet Joe Riggs (34-14)…2009 NCAA Div. I wrestling champion Mark Ellis (1-0) secured a rear-naked choke in the second round to submit Jake Heun (1-1)…UFC veteran Drew McFedries (10-6) scored a second-round TKO of Garrett Olson (4-4), who stepped in on little more than 24 hours’ notice after EliteXC vet Kala Hose withdrew from the bout with a knee injury…Olympic silver medalist wrestler Sara McMann (4-0) kept her spotless record intact with a third-round keylock submission of Raquel Pa’aluhi (3-2)…Reagan Penn (1-0), younger brother of UFC star B.J. Penn, made a successful pro debut, needing just 70 seconds to submit Paul Gardiner (2-1) by way of a rear-naked choke.
