Stirkeforce Challengers 19 weigh-ins set for Sept. 22 in Las Vegas

Today Strikeforce announced that weigh-ins for their next Challengers card will be on Sept. 22 at the Palms Casino.  This event will be open to the public and begins at 4 p.m. local time.

Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos will be the first fight seen on Fox

Today on a media conference call, Dana White announced that the first fight to be televised live on network TV would be a heavyweight title fight between champion Cain Velasquez and No. 1 contender Junior dos Santos.  White stated that because of the magnitude of being on Fox, the UFC wanted to make sure that they delivered the best possible matchup and he believes that Velasquez vs. dos Santos will fit that bill.

Nate Marquardt expected to return in December as a part of Bamma 8

Nathan Marquardt looks to return to action for the first time since his release from the UFC and it seems that is going to be in December.  Officials confirmed this with MMA Weekly today and stated that in addition to being on the card in December, Marquardt is still planning on making his middleweight debut.

Gina Carano targeted for December 17 Strikeforce event

Three months after she was forced out of a bout, Gina Carano expects to make her long-awaited return to MMA on Dec. 17 for Strikeforce.  A specific opponent for this fight has yet to be determined.  Carano was forced to pull out of a scheduled bout on the Strikeforce Overeem vs Verdum but was cleared by her doctor to resume training in August.
