The two legends were expected to face each other at UFC Fight Night in March, but an injury to Ortiz forced the fight to be called off. The Sanshou kickboxer Le will be making his UFC debut after competing in Strikeforce. The two will compete at UFC 139, which takes place on Nov. 19 in San Jose, Calif. Source: VitorBelfort.com Aaron Simpson to Welcome Eric “Red” Schafer Back at UFC 136 After Nick Catone had to pull out of the fight due to injury, Aaron Simpson has a new opponent for UFC 136 on Oct. 8 in Houston. Simpson (9-2) is looking to bounce back after two consecutive losses to Brad Tavares and Mario Miranda. He won seven straight fights to begin his career. Schafer (12-5-2) had a stint in the UFC, but did not last long after back-to-back defeats to Ryan Bader and Justin Brilz. In his one appearance outside the UFC, he defeated Chris Albandia at XFO 41. Bellator 59 will feature a pair of UFC veterans as Patricky “Pitbull” Freire (9-2 MMA, 2-1 BFC) meets Kurt Pellegrino (16-6 MMA, 0-0 BFC) and Marcin Held (11-2 MMA, 0-0 BFC) fights Phillipe Nover (5-3-1 MMA, 0-0 MMA).
