TUF 11 veteran returns to the Octagon at UFC 137

Chris Camozzi earned his way into “The Ultimate Fighter” house by winning his entry fight, but suffered a jaw injury which forced him off the show.  Despite this, the UFC held onto him, as he went 2-1 with the promotion before being handed his walking papers.  In his first fight outside of the UFC, he fought Joey Villasenor to a controversial draw, a verdict that was changed to a victory for Camozzi by the New Mexico State Athletic Commission after a scoring error was found after the fight.  His opponent will be the newly-acquired Francis “Limitless” Carmont, a dangerous French striker who trains with Georges St-Pierre.  The fight will take place at UFC 137 and will be contested at middleweight.

Injured Daniel Roberts out at UFC Fight Night 25, replaced by Mike Stumpf

Welterweight Daniel “Ninja” Roberts has to pull out of his fight with T.J. Waldburger this Saturday due to an injury.  Replacing him will be UFC newcomer and grappling ace Mike Stumpf.  The Jeff Curran product holds a 11-2 record and has stopped seven of his 11 career victories by submission, which makes for an interesting fight as Waldburger has ten of his 13 career victories by submission as well.

UFC middleweight champion may be sidelined until early 2012

While training for his fight at UFC 134, middleweight champion Anderson Silva injured his shoulder.  “The Spider” claims that he had to take pain medication that was cleared by the athletic commission in order to be able to go on with his fight that night.

Despite claims that the Brazilian might need to have surgery to fix the problem, it appears that time off and rehab will heal the injured shoulder.
