Failed Marijuana Test Caused Dave Herman’s Fight Cancellation

On Wednesday, The MMA Corner reported that Dave Herman’s scheduled fight with Mike Russow at UFC 136 had been cancelled. On Thursday, Herman told Clinch Gear Radio that a failed drug test had resulted in the bout being called off. While Herman denied using marijuana himself, the heavyweight prospect confessed to being around other individuals who were using the drug.

A replacement has not been named for a bout with Russow. With less than two weeks remaining until the event, it is very possible that Russow’s return to the Octagon could be delayed as a result of this fight cancellation.

War Machine Returns Against Roger Huerta

After spending one year in jail, the fighter previously known as Jon Koppenhaver will make his return to MMA for a bout with Roger Huerta. The bout will be held at an Ultimate Warrior Fighting event on Nov. 26.

Following his departure from the UFC, where he was a lightweight contender, Huerta had an unsuccessful stint with Bellator. Coming off of back-to-back losses to Eddie Alvarez and Pat Curran, Huerta is in a must-win situation heading into his matchup against War Machine.
