Jones vs. Evans targeted for UFC 140, UFC boss says fight not happening

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones (14-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) and No. 1 contender Rashad Evans (16-1-1 MMA, 11-1-1 UFC) were expected to headline UFC 140 in Toronto, but UFC president Dana White later shot down those rumors.

MMAFighting first reported the bout, but White later stated on Twitter that the fight is not expected to take place in December.

UFC 140 is expected to take place from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Dec. 10.

Third Weight Class the Charm for Bruce Leeroy?

Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres is dropping down to 135 pounds to fight Cole Escovedo at the UFC on Fox event in Anaheim, Calif.

Dana White today announced that verbal agreements have been made for the bout.

UFC on Fox takes place on Nov. 12, headlined by Cain Velasquez defending his heavyweight belt against Junior dos Santos.

Brunson Reveals James Bout for Strikeforce Challengers 20

It was announced Wednesday that undefeated welterweight prospect Derek Brunson will take on American Kickboxing Academy’s Nate James at Strikeforce Challengers 20 on Nov. 18.

Strikeforce Challengers 20 will take place at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and is headlined by Antwain Britt vs. Lumumba Sayers in a middleweight bout.

Sandro to Meet Dias at Bellator 58, Wants Curran Revenge

Marlon Sandro, the Bellator Summer Series featherweight runner-up, is scheduled to get back in the cage soon.

Sandro confirmed that he will fight jiu-jitsu practioner Rafael Dias at Bellator 58, which takes place on Nov. 19 from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla.

It was originally tapped that Sandro would take on Luis Palomino, but Palomino withdrew from the bout.
