All main card fighters make weight for UFC 140

The UFC held its official weigh-ins today at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre for UFC 140 which will take place tomorrow night, also at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre and live on pay-per-view.  All fighters except for Dennis Hallman made weight on their first attempt.  Hallman came in 2.5 pounds over and did not weigh in again.  Hallman was fined an undisclosed portion of his purse.

Jordan Mein vs. Tyron Woodley added to Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine

Strikeforce officials announced today that top welterweight prospects Jordan Mein and Tyron Woodley will fight each other at “Strikeforce: Rockhold vs Jardine.”  This fight is scheduled to be a part of the main card portion of the event.

Crowe replaces Escudero at Legacy Fighting Championship 9, HDNet lineup set

Larry Crowe has stepped up to replace Efrain Escudero and take on Jeff Rexroad at next week’s Legacy Fighting Championship 9.  Escudero was originally set to fight Rexroad, but withdrew from the bout so that he could resign with the UFC earlier this week.

UFC 143 nets bout between Jorgensen and Barao

UFC officials continued to announce their plans for UFC 143 as they announced that Scott Jorgensen and Renan Barao have verbally agreed to fight each other.  It was not announced whether this fight will be on the main card or if it will be a part of the preliminary card.

UFC confirms Josh Koscheck vs. Mike Pierce for UFC 143

Today, UFC officials confirmed that Mike Pierce will step in to face Josh Koscheck at UFC 143 in February.  Kosheck was originally set to face Carlos Condit in the co-main event, but due to an injury to the champion, George St-Pierre, Condit now faces Nick Diaz for the interim welterweight title.  Whether or not Pierce vs. Koscheck will still be the co-main event has not been announced.
