Werdum will return to the UFC following a stint with Strikeforce. Werdum previously fought in the UFC from 2007 to 2008. Nelson on the other hand his attempting to continue his momentum after defeating Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic. Werdum will have a chance to exact revenge on old foes as his last loss came at the hands of Allistar Overeem and his last UFC loss to the current UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos. Source: MMA Weekly Bellator signs former Shooto champ Ueda Former Shooto 132-pound champion Masakatsu Ueda has been signed to compete in the upcoming sixth-season bantamweight tournament Thus far, Bellator has inked Ueda and Marcos Galvao in the 135-pound draw, and will be featuring six more bantamweights in the tournament. Bellator’s sixth season is expected to kick off in March and will feature a total of five eight-man tournaments. In addition to the bantamweight bracket, tournaments will be held in the featherweight, lightweight, welterweight and middleweight divisions. Source: Sherdog UFC prelims set to air on Fox 2 UFC 142 prelims will serve as UFC’s debut on FX on Jan. 14, a FUEL TV official confirmed on Tuesday. FUEL TV and FX share the same parent company, FOX. Fox will broadcast the majority of UFC prelim bouts in 2012, however, the UFC 142 undercard will air on the network’s sister channel, FX. Also, FUEL TV will air the weigh-ins live and a post-fight show immediately following the event. The UFC 142 main card, featuring Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes for the UFC featherweight title, will air live on pay-per-view. The event will take place at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
