Megumi Fujii added to Dream New Year’s Eve Event

Dream officials have announced that a women’s 115-pound feature bout between Megumi Fujii and Karla Benitez will take place at its end of year event.

The New Year’s Eve event is a mixed card with MMA bouts, pro wrestling bouts and bouts mixing MMA and kickboxing rules.

Fedor Emelianenko will also make his return to Japan on the card, facing Olympic gold medal Judoka Satoshi Ishii.

Fabio Maldonado to meet Caio Magalhaes at UFC 142

The UFC has revealed that promotional newcomer Caio Magalhaes will step in for Stanislov Nedkov against fellow Brazilian Fabio Maldonado at UFC 142 on Jan. 14 from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro.

Magalhaes, a Nova Uniao product, is undefeated in five professional bouts.

Ronnie Mann first featherweight confirmed for Bellator’s upcoming tournament

Bellator has announced that Ronnie Mann will be the first participant in its season-six featherweight tournament. The fighter has competed four times under the Bellator banner, most recently submitting Kenny Foster with a triangle choke in October.

Bellator’s sixth season is expected to begin in March and will air Friday nights on MTV2.

Wagnney Fabiano also tabbed for Bellator featherweight tourney

The upcoming Bellator featherweight tournament will also feature former WEC and IFL competitor Wagnney Fabiano.

Bellator President Bjorn Rebney announced the signing of the Brazilian on his personal Twitter account.

Fabiano has been out of action since WEC 52, when he dropped a bantamweight bout to Joseph Benavidez.

Travis Marx is final entrant in Bellator’s season-six bantamweight tourney

Travis Marx is the eighth and final addition to Bellator’s season-six bantamweight tournament.

The bantamweight tournament also kicks off in March on MTV2.

Marx is a Greg Jackson product in Albuquerque and has 10 submission victories and four knockouts in 18 career wins. He’s currently riding a three-fight win streak.
