Following Twitter-related release, Miguel Torres rejoins UFC Roster

To the shock of many fans, Miguel Torres was recently released from the UFC for posting a Tweet that was deemed inappropriate.  The Tweet, a reference to the show Workaholics which airs on Comedy Central, offended several people including Dana White.  White decided to make an example out of Torres and released him from his UFC contract.  After a scheduled press conference today for UFC 141, White indicated that Torres has made amends for his wrong doings and is now back in the UFC.

Ed Herman vs. Clifford Starks added to UFC 143

Zuffa officials announced today that they have added Ed Herman vs. Clifford Starks to UFC 143.  It is expected that this fight will be a part of the preliminary portion of this card.  UFC 143 takes place Super Bowl weekend at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Johnny Bedford draws newcomer at UFC on Fox 2

The Ultimate Fighter 14 competitor Johnny Bedford was all set to face Eddie Wineland at UFC on Fox 2, but Wineland was forced out of the bout due to injury.  Today the UFC released that Bedford will now welcome newcomer Mitch Gagnon to the Octagon.  It is uncertain whether or not this fight will make the main card.  UFC on Fox 2 will take place at the United Center in Chicago on Jan. 28.

Aaron Rosa vs. James Te Huna slotted for UFC on FX 2 in Australia

A lightweight bout between Aaron Rosa and James Te Huna is scheduled for UFC on FX 2.  Rosa released the news via his Twitter account this afternoon and MMA Junkie comfirmed the report with sources close to the event.  UFC on FX 2 is scheduled to take place on March 3 and airs live in the United States on March 2 from the Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia.

Jamie Varner vs. Drew Fickett headlines HDNet’s XFC on Feb. 10

XFC officials announced the full lineup for its Feb. 10 event, and it will be headlined by former WEC lightweight champ and UFC veteran Drew Fickett.  XFC 16 originates from the Knoxville Civic Auditorium-Coliseum in Tennessee and the main card will air live on HDNet.
