UFC announces Jon Jones to headline UFC 145

Today, UFC officials announced that the light heavyweight champion will return to action, defending his title in April at UFC 145.  It is expected that Jones will be defending his title against Rashad Evans, but it is still possible that Dan Henderson sneaks in there.

Strikeforce adds Scott Smith vs. Lamumba Sayers

A middleweight fight between two of the best strikers in the sport, Lamumba Sayers and Scott Smith, is set for Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey.  Zuffa officials today announced this fight as an addition to the card.  This fight is expected to be a part of the main card.

MFC 32 Results

Despite all of the controversy related to MFC 32, with fighter Antonio McKee being fired and Brian Cobb told that he might be fired as well all before the event even started, it still turned out to be an exciting night of fights.  MFC 32 took place at the Mayfield Inn Trade and Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and was headlined by a light heavyweight bout between former UFC fighter Wilson Gouviea and Dwayne Lews.

  • Wilson Gouveia defeated Dwayne Lewis vis TKO at 3:19 of round 2
  • Antonio McKee defeated Brian Cobb vis unanimous decision (29-28,29-28,29-28)
  • Ryan McGillivary defeated Diego Bautista via submission (armbar) at 2:25 of round 3
  • Nathan Coy defeated Dhiego Lima via unanimous decision (30-27,30-27, 29-28)
  • Jamie Toney defeated Kyle Jackson via unanimous decision ( 30-27,30-27,30-27)
  • Dan Ring defeated James Haddad via majority decision (29-27,28-28,29-27)
  • Matt Jelly defeated Garret Nybakken via split decision (29-28, 27-30, 29-27)
  • Brendan Kornberger defeated Allen Hope is TKO at 4;45 of round 1
