Maximum Fighting Championship 32: Bitter Rivals (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; Jan. 27)

In a fight that made Sherdog’s 10 January Tussles Worth Watching, UFC and IFL veteran Antonio McKee (27-4-2) earned a unanimous decision over UFC and Sengoku vet Brian Cobb (19-7). The fight was to be for the MFC lightweight title, but was changed to a three-round non-title affair after McKee failed to make weight. Both fighters were released by the promotion following the bout…In the promotion’s first non-title five-round bout, UFC veteran Wilson Gouveia (13-8) scored a second-round TKO of Dwayne Lewis (12-8)…Strikeforce veteran Nathan Coy (10-4) took home a unanimous nod over Dhiego Lima (6-1)…TUF 13 alum Ryan McGillivray (12-5-1) locked in an armbar in the third round to submit Diego Bautista (7-1).

Bellator and Sengoku veteran Matt Jaggers (21-7) scored a first-round TKO of Tom Osborne (11-9).

Extreme Cage Combat 13 (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada)

Rd. 2 of Kent (blue trunks) vs. Post

Mike Kent (8-0) remained undefeated with a second-round TKO of Chester Post (6-22-1).

Midwest Cage Championship 38: Hernandez vs. O’Brien (Des Moines, Iowa)

UFC veteran T.J. O’Brien (17-5) earned a split decision over Allen Hernandez (7-7) to claim the MCC interim lightweight championship.

Pinnacle Combat IX: It’s Personal (Dubuque, Iowa)

TUF 5 alum Brian Geraghty (25-17-1) edged out Beau Laughridge (3-2) by split decision to retain the Pinnacle Combat lightweight championship.

Jan. 28
California Fight Syndicate: Santa Monica (Santa Monica, Calif.)

TUF 11 alum Joseph Henle (6-0-1) eked out a split decision over Michael Moreno (0-4).

Extreme Challenge 203 (Cedar Rapids, Iowa)

UFC veteran Joe Vedepo (12-5) submitted Ken Allen (3-5) in the first-round via rear-naked choke.

G1 Fights: Sovereign Valor (Kinder, La.)

Strikeforce and Bellator veteran Adam Schindler (10-3) scored a first-round TKO of Yoshiaki Takahashi (7-2-2)…Francisco Derek Campos (9-2) submitted Kota Okazawa (10-6-4) via second-round neck crank.

NAAFS: Caged Fury 16 (Morgantown, W.Va.)

UFC veteran and recent Bellator addition Sean McCorkle (14-2) submitted Mike Gordon (1-1) via arm-triangle choke in the first round…Ashley Cummins (2-0) earned a unanimous verdict over Bellator veteran Stephanie Frausto (2-4), the sister of Bellator women’s champion Zoila Gurgel.

Pancrase: Progress Tour 1 (Tokyo)

No. 8-ranked flyweight and Sengoku veteran Kiyotaka Shimizu (10-6-3) and Seiji Ozuka (12-9-7) fought to a majority draw in a King of Pancrase flyweight championship bout that made Sherdog’s 10 January Tussles Worth Watching…In a one-night tournament to crown a new middleweight King of Pancrase, former light heavyweight King of Pancrase and Sengoku veteran Ryo Kawamura (14-6-4) earned a unanimous decision over Pride vet Yuji Hisamatsu (15-20-6) to advance to the finals, while Sengoku vet Ikkei Nagamura (7-4-2) took the unanimous nod over Hikaru Sato (21-21-4) to move on. Kawamura then scored a second-round knockout over Nagamura in the championship bout to take the crown…Kenji Nagaki (4-2) scored a second-round TKO of UFC and Pride veteran Yuki Kondo (53-27-8) when Kondo’s corner threw in the towel…UFC and Sengoku veteran Keiichiro Yamamiya (42-27-10) earned a majority decision over Yukinari Tamura (11-9-6).

Savage Entertainment: Blizzard Bash (Savage, Minn.)

Mitch Jackson (15-2) submitted Bobby Ferrier (6-11) by way of a second-round rear-naked choke.

Ultimate Cage Combat 6: Brutal Massacre (Helena, Mont.)

Robert Mrotek (11-2) knocked out Donovan Mickie (12-2) in the first round…Bret Letto (10-1) secured a rear-naked choke in the third round to submit Marcus Russell (0-3).
