John Hathaway meets Pascal Krauss on May 5

Welterweights John Hathaway and Pascal Krauss have been added to the UFC on FOX 3 card.  The pair were slated to meet at UFC 138 in November, but injuries to both fighters forced cancellation of the bout.

UFC on FOX 3 takes place May 5 from the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J. The card is headlined by a lightweight matchup between Jim Miller and Nate Diaz and airs live on FOX.

The promotion has not revealed if Hathaway and Krauss will make the main card.

Daniel Pineda steps in for Robert Peralta, faces Mackens Semerzier

Featherweight Daniel Pineda will make his second appearance in the Octagon in only two months, as he steps in to face Mackens Semerzier.

Pineda defeated Pat Schilling at UFC on FX 1 in promotional debut on Jan. 20, and now takes the place of an injured Robert Peralta.

UFC on FX 2 takes place March 3 from the Allphones Arena in Sydney, but airs live in the U.S. on March 2. The main card will be shown live on FX while the night’s preliminary card is slated for FUEL TV.

MGM tabbed for upcoming Pay-Per-Views

Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Keith Kizer has revealed that the UFC has requested the dates of Saturday, May 26 and Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the MGM Grand for pay-per-view events.  The events will likely be UFC 146 and UFC 148, respectively.

No fights have been released for either event at this time.

Steele out, Goodall in against Ford at Aggression 9

The Aggression MMA 9 card, slated for Feb. 11 in Edmonton, Alberta, has lost one of the main event fighters.

Tyson Steele has suffered an injury during training and will be replaced by Ricky Goodall against Ryan Ford.

Additionally, the promotion revealed that the event can be viewed via internet PPV through AggressionMMA.com.

UFC 143 medical suspensions

 

The Nevada State Athletic Commission issued medical suspensions to 15 fighters from Saturday’s UFC 143 event, which took place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

  • Carlos Condit: Suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 due to a right-cheek laceration
  • Fabricio Werdum: Suspended until Aug. 3 due to a right-quadriceps contusion, though a doctor can clear him early; regardless, suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 for precautionary reasons
  • Roy Nelson: Suspended until April 5 due to a forehead laceration
  • Mike Pierce: Suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 due to a right-eye laceration
  • Scott Jorgensen: Suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 for precautionary reasons
  • Clifford Starks: Suspended until Aug. 3 due to a left-hand/finger injury, though a doctor can clear him early following an X-ray
  • Ed Herman: Suspended until Aug. 3 due to possible injuries to both hands, though a doctor can clear him early; regardless, suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 for precautionary reasons
  • Max Holloway: Suspended until Feb. 26 with no contact until Feb. 19 due to a right-eye laceration
  • Alex Cacaeres: Suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 for precautionary reasons
  • Edwin Figueroa: Suspended until Aug. 3 due to a groin injury, though a doctor can clear him early; regardless, suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 for precautionary reasons
  • Chris Cope: Suspended until April 5 with no contact until March 21 for precautionary reasons
  • Matt Riddle: Suspended until Aug. 3 due to a broken right-index finger, though a doctor can clear him early; regardless, suspended until March 6 with no contact until Feb. 26 due to a left-eye laceration
  • Henry Martinez: Suspended until Aug. 3 due to a possible right-foot injury, though a doctor can clear him early; regardless, suspended until March 21 with no contact until March 6 due to a left-nasal laceration

Terry Martin replaces injured Jeremy Hamilton at Superior Cage Combat 4

UFC and Strikeforce veteran Terry Martin will replace injured Jeremy Hamilton against fellow middleweight Tim Ruberg at the Feb. 16 Superior Cage Combat 4 event in Las Vegas.

The event is headlined by UFC veterans Kendall Grove and Jay Silva and takes place at the Orleans Arena.

Broadcast plans for the event are expected to be announced shortly.
