New fights for UFC on Fox 3

The UFC on Fox 3 card is filling out nicely as the promotion has added two new fights to the card as middleweights Alan Belcher and Rousimar Palhares will fight along with welterweights Josh Koscheck and Johny Hendricks.

Palhares is coming off of a submission of the night performance at UFC 142 while Belcher’s most recent victory came by first-round TKO.  Both middleweights are currently riding three-fight winning streaks.

The welterweight matchup features two fighters who have also been recently victorious.  Josh Koscheck took a split decision victory over Mike Pierce at UFC 143 while Johny Hendricks shocked everyone with his 12-second knockout victory over top-ten ranked Jon Fitch.  While it is unofficial, the winner of this fight could very well hold the No. 3 ranking in the UFC welterweight division.

UFC on Fox 3 will take place on May 5 in East Rutherford, N.J.

Albert vs. Menjivar now on main card at UFC on Fuel TV 1

Originally, the bantamweight scrap between John Albert and Ivan Menjivar was scheduled to take place on the preliminary portion of UFC on Fuel TV 1, but the UFC has promoted the fight to the main card and will be the sixth fight on the main card.

While their UFC careers are young, neither fighter has lost inside the Octagon as Albert quickly TKO’ed Dustin Pague in his promotional debut in December.  Menjivar holds two victories with the UFC, however in his last fight he weighed in two-pounds overweight.

UFC on Fuel TV 1 takes place this Wednesday night in Omaha, Neb.  The four-fight undercard will be broadcasted on the UFC’s facebook page while the six-fight main card will air on Fuel TV.

Mike Kyle off of Strikeforce card with injury

The co-main event at Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey was scheduled to be Gegard Mousasi versus Mike Kyle in a light heavyweight battle.  Due to an undisclosed injury to Kyle, he has withdrawn from the fight.  This marks the second time that the former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion and Kyle were supposed to face off with one another as they were scheduled to fight at “Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley” last April.  An injury to “MAK” was the reason the first fight was scrapped as well.

As it stands, it is unknown whether or not the promotion will find a replacement for Mousasi to fight or if the fight will be scratched from the card.

Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey is scheduled to take place on March 3 in Columbus, Ohio.  Preliminary action for the event will air on Showtime Extreme while the main card fights will air on Showtime.

MFC welterweight title fight to take place on May 4

A fight between lightweights Sabah Fadai and Diego Bautista has also been announced for the event.

MFC 33: Collision Course will take place on May 4 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  The event will be televised on HDNet.
