Edwards injured, Stephens now faces Cerrone at UFC on Fuel TV 3

Lightweight Yves Edwards has been forced out of a planned bout with with Donald Cerrone at UFC on Fuek TV 3 on May 15.

In his place will be heavy-handed veteran Jeremy Stephens.

The event takes place from the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va. The main card will air live on Fuel TV.

TUF 15 Cast Announced

The cast of fighters for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter has been revealed, as 32 lightweights kick off the season on March 9. In a live two-and-a-half hour debut, that airs live on FX, 16 of the participants will move on in the reality show with victories.

More than 500 prospective entrants from around the globe tried out for the show’s 15th season, but ultimately the pool was narrowed down to just 32. The season will run for 13 consecutive weeks, featuring live fights every episode, and culminate with a championship fight on June 1, in a three-hour finale.

The coaches for the two teams will be current UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz and former WEC featherweight champion and current top contender, Urijah Faber. The fighters will clash for a third time at UFC 148 on July 7 in Las Vegas.

Bellator veteran Blagoi Ivanov stabbed in native Bulgaria

Heavyweight Blagai Ivanov was stabbed in a bar altercation in his homeland. The sambo world champion was seriously injured, suffering a deep stab wound below his armpit that reached his heart.

The fighter, along with two of his friends, was said to have been attacked by a group of eight people that possessed bats and knives.

The 25-year-old is currently in intensive care at Pirogov Hospital.

Indian promotion Super Fight League signs Todd Duffee, Trevor Prangley

India’s first MMA promotion, Super Fight League, announced that it has signed three new fighters prior to its inaugural event.

Joining the promotion with four fight deals are UFC veterans, heavyweight Todd Duffee and  light-heavyweight Trevor Prangley. SFL also signed 26-year-old Russian Baga Agaev, who has won seven of his last eight fights.

Debut fights were not announced for any of the new signees.

SFL holds its inaugural event on March 11 from the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai. That card will be headlined by Bob Sapp vs. James Thompson.

Andreas Kraniotakes vs. Mike Hayes title fight added to Cage Warriors Fight Night 4

The vacant Cage Warriors heavyweight title will be at stake as  Andreas Kraniotakes will lock horns with Bellator vet Mike Hayes at  Cage Warriors Fight Night 4. The event takes place March 16 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The main card will stream on MMAjunkie.com, while the night’s preliminary card will stream on the Cage Warriors’ Facebook page.

No additional bouts were announced by the promotion at this time.

XFC reveals fight card for April 13 event

Xtreme Fighting Championships returns to Tennessee with “XFC 17: Apocalypse” from the Oman Arena in Jackson on Friday, April 13. The card will air live on HDNet.

Headlining the event will be lightweights Eric Reynolds and Luciano Dos Santos. Also in action will be former UFC competitor Corey Hill, who takes on Charles Blanchard and a welterweight contest.
