Former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion “King” Mo Lawal struggling with post-surgery staph infection

After going through multiple knee surgeries, Mo Lawal had to have a seventh surgery on Sunday to remove matter that became infected.  With the successful surgery and a new regimen of antibiotics Lawal is optimistic that he will make a full recovery.

Spike TV will be airing The Ultimate Fighter Fridays, hosted by Kimbo Slice starting March 9

Spike TV will be running weekly three hour specials of their show The Ultimate Fighter Fridays to counter program the UFC’s new season of the reality show.  As host, Kimbo Slice will show never before seen footage of Season 10 where he competed alongside notable heavyweights such as Brendan Schaub and Roy Nelson.  Future shows will show footage from all of the previous Ultimate Fighter seasons.

Jeff Curran to face Johnny Eduardo at UFC on Fuel 3

Verbal agreements are in place for bantamweights Jeff Curran and Brazilian Johnny Eduardo to meet at UFC on Fuel 3.  It has not been confirmed whether or not this fight will be aired on the prelims or if it will be a part of the main card.

UFC 144 Prelims draw 1.5 million FX viewers

Industry sources have revealed that the UFC 144 prelims drew 1.5 million viewers on FX.  The number of viewers was nearly double the first prelims shown on on the network (UFC 142 with 888,000 viewers) and showed continued growth from the second FX event, UFC 143 (1.3 million viewers).
