Overeem tests positive for elevated testosterone, leaving UFC 146 title fight in doubt

Former Strikeforce champion Alistair Overeem has failed a pre-fight drug screening for his scheduled UFC 146 title fight against Junior dos Santos.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission revealed that the Dutch heavyweight tested positive for a 10-to-1 ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone.

Overeem was the lone main-card fighter to fail the test, which was administered to six main-card fighters, including dos Santos, Frank Mir, Cain Velasquez, Roy Nelson and Antonio Silva.

The result leaves Overeem unlikely to receive a license for the May 26, but it is unclear who will take place as the No.1 contender.

UFC 146 takes place from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
