Lyoto Machida battles Ryan Bader at UFC on Fox 4

Ryan Bader has suffered back-to-back losses, the first two defeats of his career.  The UFC isn’t giving him any breaks though, as the promotion has pitted the TUF 8 winner against former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida.  Machida hasn’t fared much better in his recent outings, losing a title bid to Jon Jones and only claiming a single victory in his last four Octagon appearances.

The two men will meet on the main card of UFC on Fox 4, which takes place Aug. 4 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Brian Stann to welcome Hector Lombard to the UFC at fourth Fox event

Recently signed top middleweight Hector Lombard now has an opponent for his Octagon debut.  The former Bellator champion will square off with Brian Stann on the main card of August’s UFC on Fox 4 event.  Lombard has not lost a fight since a 2006 defeat against Gegard Mousasi.  Stann’s only loss since dropping to 185 pounds came against No. 1 contender Chael Sonnen.

Bisping vs. Boetsch moves to UFC 149

The UFC is busy shuffling fights between cards, with the latest move seeing Michael Bisping’s middleweight encounter with Tim Boetsch shift from UFC 148 to UFC 149.

Boetsch extended his winning streak to three fights with a recent victory over Yushin Okami.  Bisping suffered a decision loss to Chael Sonnen.  The loss snapped a four-fight winning streak.

UFC 149 takes place on July 21 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, with the main card airing live on pay-per-view.

Thiago Silva vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua joins UFC 149 lineup

Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will lock horns with Thiago Silva in a main card contest at UFC 149.  The fight will be Rua’s first since a decision loss to Dan Henderson in a Fight of the Year effort.  Silva, meanwhile, will look to turn his fortunes around after suffering a loss to Alexander Gustafsson.  The loss puts Silva at 1-3 in his last four outings after kicking off his UFC tenure with four straight wins.

Jose Aldo headlines UFC 149 in Calgary against Erik Koch

Jose Aldo isn’t headed to UFC 147 after all.  The UFC featherweight kingpin would not be ready in time for a UFC 147 title defense, and will instead headline UFC 149 against challenger Erik Koch. Koch earned his shot at the title when Hatsu Hioki turned down the opportunity.  Koch is currently riding a four-fight winning streak, including two wins inside the Octagon.

UFC on Fox 3 to have two dark matches

It has become the norm for the UFC to either stream or broadcast every fight of every card, but occasionally the promotion still hosts dark matches, fights that can only be seen live by the people in attendance at the event.  This Saturday, UFC on Fox 3 will feature two such contests.  The middleweight scrap between Karlos Vemola and Mike Massenzio and the bantamweight clash between Roland Delorme and Nick Denis will serve as dark matches for the event.  The remaining six preliminary card fights will air live on Fuel TV at 5 p.m. ET before the main card goes live on FOX at 8 p.m. ET.

UFC on Fox 3 takes place May 5 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J.

Bellator welterweight tourney semifinal bout moved to Bellator 69

Bellator season-six welterweight tournament semifinalists Karl Amoussou and David Rickels were to face off at Friday’s Bellator 67 event, but their fight will now take place on the Bellator 69 card instead. The fight has been shifted to the May 18 event in Lake Charles, La.  The winner of the Amoussou-Rickels bout will meet the winner of Friday’s other semifinal match-up, which features UFC veteran Ben Saunders against Bryan Baker.
