UFC 147 headliner ‘official’ with Vitor Belfort vs. Wanderlei Silva II

On Thursday, UFC president Dana White confirmed the main event for UFC 147.

The main bout will be The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil coaches Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva squaring off for the second time in their career.

When asked if this bout was official, White replied, “Yup, that’s official.”

UFC 147 takes place on June 23 from the Estadio Jornalista Felipe Drumond (the “Mineirinho”) in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The event is expected to air live on pay-per-view.

Ross Pearson Faces No Disciplinary Actions from UFC Following DUI Arrest

Ross “The Real Deal” Pearson’s recent DUI charge won’t cost him in his UFC career.

According to Dana White, Pearson will face no disciplinary action, and will still fight Cub Swanson at UFC on FX 4 in August.

Pearson was arrested in Las Vegas last Sunday, taken into custody, but was later released on DUI charges.

UFC on Fox 3’s John Lineker Fined For Missing Weight

All fighters on this Saturday’s UFC on Fox 3 card were on point on the scales, with an exception to flyweight John Lineker, who came in a pound over.

Instead of allowing Lineker to cut the additional weight, UFC officials have decided to fine Lineker $1,200, which will go to his opponent Louis Gaudinot.
