Two more bouts in The Ultimate Fighter: Live will go down on Friday night as the final four bracket is slowly coming together. The first match-up this week will be Team Cruz’s Vinc Pichel taking on Team Faber’s Chris Saunders.

As always, The MMA Corner’s Corey Adams will take a look at this bout, and give his thoughts and prediction on the outcome.

Vinc Pichel (7-0) vs. Chris Saunders (9-2)

This is an intriguing match-up between two men who are very well-rounded.

First, you have the undefeated Pichel, who is the pick by many fans to win the entire season. In his time before The Ultimate Fighter, Pichel dominated all seven of his opponents, earning a KO over each of them. But what’s scary is that the 29-year-old is developing his ground game as well.

While on the show, Pichel has submitted both of his opponents to get to this point. Pick your poison against this guy, as he can finish the fight anywhere inside the Octagon.

And then there is Saunders, whom many doubted in his most recent fight against Sam Sicilia. Saunders barely escaped with a win in that bout, but looked impressive doing so.

Saunders is just as well-rounded as Pichel. The Long Beach, Calif., native has the ability to hang with anyone in the cage, and can compete both standing and on the mat.

The only knock on Saunders is the fact that we haven’t seen his ability to finish the fight. He certainly is capable of doing so, as advertised by three knockouts and two submissions in his career, but he will have a hard time doing so against a guy like Pichel.

This opens the door for Pichel, who has yet to go to the judges’ scorecards in his time in the cage. The Team Cruz fighter will have a bit of a height advantage over Saunders, and will use that to control where this fight goes. Wherever Pichel decides to take it, he will have the upper hand to return to the house with a knockout or submission bonus.

For Saunders to win this fight, he’ll have to be in top form, as Pichel is a step up from Sicilia. Saunders will need to turn this into a technical battle and hope that the judges give him the victory.

But my hunch is that Pichel will put on a dominant performance in this fight, and rely more on his boxing. The takedown will be there for him if he wants it, but Pichel will put away Saunders on the feet by TKO.
