TUF: Live Finale starts to take shape

While the semifinal fights of the current season of The Ultimate Fighter will take place this Friday night, ten of the cast members who have already been eliminated from the tournament have learned that they will be squaring off at the series finale next Friday.

The announced matchups are:

  • Justin Lawrence vs. John Cofer
  • Myles Jury vs. Chris Saunders
  • Cristiano Marcello vs. Sam Sicilia
  • Daron Cruickshank vs. Chris Tickle
  • Jeremy Larson vs. Joe Proctor

All ten fighters will be making their official UFC debuts as their bouts on the show are all amateur contests.

Additionally, bantamweights John Albert and Byron Bloodworth were supposed to lock horns on the card, however Bloodworth has been taken off of the card and replaced by Erik Perez.

Hettes injured, Gambino to make debut

An undisclosed injury has forced Jim Hettes out of his fight at UFC on FX 4 against Steven Siler.

It has been announced that the TUF alumni will remain on the card and take on Joey Gambino at the event.  Gambino holds a perfect 9-0 record and will be making his UFC debut in the fight.  “The Raging Warrior” has only gone to the judges scorecards once in his career, having submitted five opponents and (T)KO’ed three.

UFC on FX 4 is scheduled to take place on June 22 in Atlantic City, N.J.  The event is going to be headlined by lightweights Clay Guida and Gray Maynard.

Three fights for RFA 3 announced

While it has been known that the main event at Resurrection Fighting Alliance 3 will be Joe Stevenson vs. Dakota Cochrane for quite some time now, three more fights have been announced for the card.

A welterweight fight between Bobby Cooper and Chidi Njokuani, a featherweight fight between Lance Palmer and Nick Macias, and a light heavyweight fight between Preson Snook and Maurice Smith have all been added to the event.

While Njokuani holds a professional record of 7-3 with six (T)KO’s, he is most famously known for being the younger brother of UFC fighter Anthony Njokuani.

Smith will look to make his record 14-13 with a 2-0 record while fighting at the age of 50 when he opposes Snook.

RFA 3 will take place in Kearny, Neb. on June 30.
