UFC 146 Drug Test Results: No Problems

All 24 fighters from the May 26 UFC 146 event were tested by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for steroids and drugs of abuse. The MMA Corner has confirmed that all of the fighters’ tests were clean.
UFC 146 took place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and featured a heavyweight title tilt featuring Junior dos Santos and Frank Mir. Dos Santos retained his belt with a second-round KO of Mir.

Frank Mir Was Given Clearance for TRT

Although fight fans thought they were in the clear after hearing every fighter came back clean following UFC 146, Larry Pepe created a wave of emotions when he confirmed (through Keith Kizer) that Frank Mir was given full clearance for TRT.

Mir was very keen to avoid giving complete answers when discussing TRT and the Alistair Overeem situation prior to UFC 146. It seems to make sense now that Mir avoided the situation.

Thiago Alves Out of UFC 149, Will Require Surgery

Thiago Alves is officially out of his scheduled bout against Siyar Bahadurzada. MMA Junkie is reporting that an undisclosed injury has forced Alves to resign from the contest and “The Pitbull” would announce on his Twitter that he will undergo surgery next week.

Bahadurzada was already replacing Yoshihiro Akiyama and will now wait for the UFC to find a suitable replacement.

Thiago Silva Out against “Shogun” Rua: UFC Wants Teixeira to Step In

Another Thiago has been forced off the UFC 149 card as Thiago Silva has been scrapped from his schedule bout against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. Originally Dana White had stated that he wants Glover Teixeira to step in. He also stated that Rua’s camp wanted nothing to do with Teixeira.

A report from Tatame later quoted Rua’s manager as saying “I just sent a message to the UFC. I’m waiting for their call”, Heller said. “(Turning down a fight with Glover) it’s not true at all.”
