Yves Lavigne Draws Silva/Sonnen II

The anticipated rematch between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen has a referee for the July 7 showdown.

Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer announced that veteran referee Yves Lavigne will referee the bout.

Junior dos Santos plans to rid of PEDs

In a press conference held in Brazil, UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos opposed PEDs strongly.

He said that he reached the top of the sport without using PEDs, and now, he’s calling for random drug testing to help clean up the sport.

Dos Santos went on to say that a fighter who uses these illegal substances are not themselves in the Octagon on fight night.

UFC 148 Expo to Feature More than 50 Fighters

Those with tickets to the UFC Fan Expo held during the weekend of UFC 148 will be treated to MMA royalty.

The UFC announced today that more than 50 current UFC and Strikeforce fighters will attend the expo at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

The most notable names that are listed to appear are Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell, Cain Velasquez, B.J. Penn, Jon Jones, Junior dos Santos, Wanderlei Silva and Tito Ortiz.

Bellator Signs Deal with Undefeated, Four-Time World Sambo Champion Vitaly Minakov

Bellator added a new heavyweight to their roster on Thursday with the signing of undefeated Vitaly Minakov.

“Becoming a Bellator fighter means that all my hard work in the gym and training has all paid off,” Minakov said. “It means myself and my entire team were working in the right direction, and we did everything right.”

Holding a record of 8-0 in MMA, Minakov is a four-time World Sambo Champion that has scored three knockout victories in his last four fights.

Minakov is expected to make his Bellator debut shortly and already has his sights set on the future Bellator Heavyweight Tournament.
