Paul Daley inks deal with Bellator

British welterweight Paul Daley has a new home.

Just a week after revealing his release from Strikeforce (at his request), the fighter has signed with Bellator Fighting Championships.

Daley’s promotional debut will come in just over a month at Bellator 72 on July 20. No opponent has been named for the UFC, EliteXC and BAMMA veteran.

“I’ve been a fan of Bellator for a long while,” Daley said. “When this chance came up, I was absolutely ready to make a long term commitment to Bellator. I have my sights set on winning the tournament and winning that Bellator title.”

UFC on Fuel TV 5 gets Struve vs. Miocic main event

The UFC’s trip to Nottingham, England on Sept. 29 has a headlining bout.

Heavyweights Stefan Struve and Stipe Miocic will square off as the main attraction of the cable-broadcast fight card.

Both fighters enter the contest on quite a roll. Miocic carries with him an undefeated record, including three straight in the Octagon. Struve, meanwhile, has stretched his promotional resume to 8-3, going 5-1 in his last six.

The event, dubbed UFC: Nottingham, will take place from the 10,000-seat Capital FM Arena.

Viana vs. Teixeira meet on UFC 147 prelims

The June 23 UFC 147 event has added a preliminary bout pitting Ultimate Fighter: Brazil featherweights Hugo “Wolverine” Viana and John “Macapa” Teixeira against one another.

Viana, a Team Vitor fighter, was eliminated in the semifinals by Rony “Jason” Mariano Bezerra by unanimous decision.

Team Wanderlei’s Teixeira saw his hopes dashed on the reality show by veteran Rodrigo Damm by split decision in the quarterfinal round.

The pay-per-view event is slated for the Estadio Jornalista Felipe Drumond in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It will be headlined by a five-round, 190-pound catchweight between Rich Franklin and Wanderlei Silva. Franklin previously defeated Silva at UFC 99 by decision.

Cage Warriors 48 card additions and subtractions

The Cage Warriors middleweight tournament final will now take place on Aug. 30 at Cage Warriors Fight Night 7 as Victor Cheng has suffered an elbow injury. As such, his bout with Pavel Kusch has been pulled from the Cage Warriors 48 event.

However, the event has added middleweights John Phillips vs. Faycal Hucin, welterweights Jack Mason vs. Danny Roberts, and welterweights Aaron Wilkinson vs. Leigh Cohoon.

Cage Warriors 48 takes place July 21 from the HMV Forum in London. The main card will streams live on MMA Junkie.
