Jim Hettes vs. Marcus Brimage booked for UFC 152

One more bout has been officially announced to join a fight between B.J. Penn and Rory MacDonald at UFC 152.

Featherweight Jim Hettes will take on former Ultimate Fighter contestant, Marcus Brimage at the Sept. 22 card.

Hettes has amassed two wins in the UFC with one being a submission win over Alex Caceres and the other being a unanimous decision victory at UFC 141 against Nam Phan. Hettes received a 30-25 score from one of the judges for his performance against Phan.

Hettes is unbeaten in his career with ten wins, nine of which come by submission. Hettes was expected to return to action last month against Steven Siler but withdrew due to injury.

Brimage is also 2-0 so far in the UFC after being bounced from the TUF tournament by Bryan Caraway. Both wins have come by decision and inn his last fight at UFC 145 he beat Maximo Blanco by split decision.

UFC 152 is expected to take place in Toronto.

Bart Palaszewski to face Diego Nunes at UFC on FX 5

Bart Palaszewski returns to action after losing to Hatsu Hioki at UFC 144 in February and he will get a fight with Diego Nunes.

Nunes is also coming off of a loss abroad. Nunes lost to Dennis Siver this past April in Sweden at UFC on Fuel 2. The Brazilian fighter and Nova Uniao product is 2-2 in the UFC with his losses coming to the aforementioned Siver and a loss in June 2011 to Kenny Florian. Nunes also holds wins over Mike Brown and Manvel Gamburyan.

UFC on FX 5 takes place this September and will be held in Indianapolis. Since the announcement Palaszewski has made a push to be on the card.

UFC on Fuel 5 adds light heavyweight scrap between Fabio Maldonado and Jorgen Kruth

Added to the UFC on Fuel 5 card will be a light heavyweight fight between Maldonado and the newest addition to the UFC, Kruth.

When the UFC heads to Nottingham, England for Fuel 5, these two will be looking to get on track in the UFC. Maldonado is currently riding a two-fight losing streak in unanimous decision losses to Igor Pokrajac and Kyle Kingsbury. Maldonado earned “Fight of the Night” honors in his loss to Kingsbury at the TUF 13 Finale in June 2011.

Maldonado’s last win came in his UFC debut against TUF  alum, James McSweeney at UFC 120 in October of 2010. Maldonado won by TKO.

Kruth will make his UFC debut after winning the first five fights of his MMA career. The Swedish fighter made the move to MMA from kickboxing where he earned a 71-14 record with 32 knockouts.
