UFC 149: Faber vs. Barao Weigh-ins (Video) The MMA Corner Staff July 20, 2012 Events, Video On Friday, July 20, the UFC held the weigh-ins for UFC 149: Faber vs. Barao from the ScotiaBank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The July 21 event takes place from the same venue. The card will feature former WEC champion Urijah Faber and Brazilian Renan Barao who will compete for the UFC’s interim bantamweight championship on Saturday night. Faber was originally expected to conclude his trilogy with current champion Dominick Cruz, but Cruz suffered a torn ACL while the two were coaching on The Ultimate Fighter: Live this spring. In addition to the main event, the card also features longtime Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard making his highly-anticipated Octagon debut against Tim Boetsch, as well as veteran heavyweight Cheick Kongo taking on Shawn Jordan. Saturday’s main card will air live on pay-per-view starting at 10 p.m. ET. The preliminary card will be split between an 8 p.m. ET broadcast on FX and a YouTube/Facebook stream that begins at 7 p.m. ET. The fighters hit the scales to weigh-in at 6 p.m. ET today.
