Onetime UFC Heavyweight Sherman Pendergarst Dead at 45 after Battle with Cancer

A veteran of MMA, Sherman Pendergarst, passed away on Friday morning at the age of 45 due to a long battle with cancer.

Longtime friend and coach Pat Miletich confirmed the passing, with Miletich stating he died while at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport, Iowa at 8 a.m.

Ian McCall withdraws from UFC on FOX 4

After recently having a bout announced with UFC newcomer John Moraga, flyweight Ian McCall has withdrawn from UFC on FOX 4.

McCall posted on The Underground MMA forum that he was “forced to withdraw days ago”, but no word has been heard because of the withdrawal. However, UFC.com still has the bout listed on the card.

UFC on FOX 4 takes place on Aug. 4 from the Staples Center is Los Angeles.

Lightweights Evan Dunham, T.J. Grant Join UFC 152 Bill in Toronto

According to UFC officials, lightweights Evan Dunham and T.J. Grant will clash at UFC 152.

UFC 152 takes place on Sept. 22 from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

Headlining the event will be Joseph Benavidez taking on Demetrious Johnson for the vacant UFC flyweight title.

Dana White: Tim Sylvia Not Signed to Strikeforce

Hours after it was announced that former UFC heavyweight champion would take on Daniel Cormier on Sept. 29 in Strikeforce, Dana White shot down the rumor.

“Long story,” he was quoted as saying, “but yes, Tim is not with Zuffa.”

White commented numerous times that Sylvia would not be returning to either Strikeforce or the UFC.

Kyle Kingsbury vs. Jimi Manuwa slotted for UFC on FUEL TV 5 in Nottingham

Kyle Kingsbury and UFC newcomer Jimi Manuwa have been slated to square off at UFC on FUEL TV 5 in Nottingham, England.

The light heavyweight bout will be apart of the preliminary card.

UFC on FUEL TV 5 takes place on Sept. 29 from the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England.

Cage Warriors 48: Cheng ruled out of tournament final, winner of Phillips vs. Fields to get title shot

According to a press release sent to The MMA Corner, Cage Warriors middleweight Victor Cheng will not fight for the CWFC title at CWFC Fight Night 7 due to injury.

Cheng was expected to face Pavel Kusch tonight at Cage Warriors 48, but the promotion is keen to give Cheng time to recover.

With the injury, this gives John Phillips and Chris Fields a golden opportunity. Officials announced that the winner of the main event tonight will be given a title shot against Kusch on Sept. 1 in Jordan.

Jason South out, Mike Bronzoulis becomes replacement against Corey Hill at XFC 19

Due to personal issues, Jason South has dropped out of XFC 19. But today, Strikeforce and Legacy FC veteran Mike Bronzoulis has stepped up to take on Corey Hill.

The two will meet in the main event of XFC 19: Charlotte Showdown, which takes place on Aug. 3 from the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte, N.C.
