On Saturday, July 21, the UFC hosted UFC 149 from the ScotiaBank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

The event featured former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber and Brazilian Renan Barao competing for the UFC’s interim bantamweight championship. Faber was originally expected to conclude his trilogy with current champion Dominick Cruz, but Cruz suffered a torn ACL while the two were coaching on The Ultimate Fighter: Live earlier this year. Barao carried a 28-fight unbeaten streak into the night’s main event.

In addition to the main event, the card also featured longtime Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard making his highly-anticipated Octagon debut against Tim Boetsch. Like Barao, Lombard entered the cage on a lengthy unbeaten streak. Veteran heavyweight Cheick Kongo also battled former Strikeforce combatant Shawn Jordan on the night’s main card.

Saturday’s main card aired live on pay-per-view while the preliminary card was split between FX and a YouTube/Facebook stream.

The night’s winners, as well as UFC President Dana White will discuss the action approximately 30 minutes after the headlining fight between Faber and Barao comes to an end. A full stream of the press conference will appear below.
