Strikeforce’s event this past Saturday achieved the best ratings of any event the promotion has held in 2012. The card averaged 529,000 viewers with a peak viewership of 676,000 viewers according to industry sources.
The main card was headlined by Ronda Rousey and Sarah Kaufman. Rousey successfully defended her title after forcing Kaufman to tap due to arm-bar in 53 seconds. The card was the fifth highest in ratings for all Strikeforce events since 2011.
Tickets for UFC 153 will go on sale this Thursday at 7:00 PM EST. The card will be the UFC’s third trip to Rio de Janeiro and is expected to be headlined by a featherweight title bout between Jose Aldo and Erik Koch.
Also on the main card are Vitor Belfort, Alan Belcher, Quinton Jackson, Glover Teixeira, Jon Fitch, Erik Silva, Demian Maia, and Rick Story. UFC 153 is set to take place on Oct. 13 at the HSBC Arena.
Bellator 79 tickets are now on sale. The event is set to deliver another great night of fights from the Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada. The card will feature current bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas and knockout artist Paul Daley. The event will also feature local star, Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford.
Bellator 79 takes place on Nov.2 and will be streamed for free at Spike.com.
Conor McGregor will be on the mend after suffering a facial injury that will keep him out of action for approximately six weeks. McGregor was scheduled to defend his newly won featherweight title at CWFC 7 on Sept. 1.
McGregor’s opponent, Jim Alers, will now face Marcio Cesar on the same card.
The Score Fighting Series(SFS), a MMA promotion owned and operated by ScoreMedia has announced a partnership with AXS TV. SFS fights will now be a part of AXS TV Fights programming beginning Oct. 19.
SFS has seen a number of prominent names like Rameu Thierry Sokoudjou, Luigi Fioravanti, Marius Zaromskis, and Jordan Mein among others.
