Frankie Edgar dropping down to featherweight, aiming for December return

The former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar will make a move to 145 pounds the next time he steps inside the Octagon.

On Fuel TV’s weekly UFC Tonight show, Ariel Helwani reported the breaking news to fans tuning in.

Edgar is not expected to get an immediate title shot against featherweight champion Jose Aldo just yet, but is hoping for a fight this winter against a top contender.

UFC on Fox 5 Location Announced

Another big announcement came out on Tuesday’s UFC Tonight program

The Key Arena in Seattle will host UFC on Fox 5, which takes place on Dec. 8.

UFC on Fox 5 was announced weeks ago, but no location was determined. A lightweight title fight between Ben Henderson and Nate Diaz will headline the card in Seattle.

TUF veterans Ramsey Nijem and Joe Proctor to meet at UFC on FOX 5 in Seattle

To go along with an already stacked card, two former Ultimate Fighter competitors will meet in Seattle.

Finalist of season 13 Ramsey Nijem will square off with Joe Proctor, an alum from the past season.

UFC on Fox 5 takes place on Dec. 8 from Key Arena in Seattle.

Montreal Secures Co-Main Bout

A previously rumored bout for UFC 154 has now become official.

The UFC announced that Martin Kampmann will take on Johny Hendricks in the co-main event of UFC 154 in Montreal.

UFC 154 takes place on Nov. 17 from the Bell Centre in Montreal. Canada’s own Georges St-Pierre is expected to headline the event as he takes on Carlos Condit for the welterweight championship.

Miguel Torres Released From UFC, Heading to Titan FC

Titan Fighting Championships has signed another star to their growing list of fighters.

Former WEC bantamweight champion announced on his website Tuesday that he has been released by the UFC after a loss to Michael McDonald, and will make his debut in Titan FC on Nov. 2 in Hammond, Ind.

No opponent has been determined for Torres thus far.

UFC on FX 6 targeted for Dec. 15 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas

An event has been rumored for The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Dec. 15.

Sources say that an event, more than likely UFC on FX 6, is possible to take place later this year from Las Vegas.

No other information has been provided.

 Tom DeBlass drops to 185, meets Riki Fukuda at UFC China

In Nov., Tom DeBlass will move down to 185 pounds to take on Brazilian Riki Fukuda.

According to sources, DeBlass vs. Fukuda will be a part of the Facebook card for UFC on Fuel TV, but no official announcement has been made.

UFC on Fuel TV 6 takes place on Nov. 10 from the CotaiArena in Macau, China. The event will be headlined by Rich Franklin taking on Cung Le.

Paul Daley Returns to Bellator in November

Paul “Semtex” Daley has a date for his next fight will Bellator.

Daley will be a part of Bellator 79 on Nov. 2, but no opponent has been named for the welterweight.

Bellator 79 is scheduled to take place at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, Canada.

Inocente-Villante, Kyle-Staring set for ‘Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy,’ two more official

The ‘Melendez vs. Healy’ Strikeforce event for Sept. 29 is starting to come together.

Two bouts were announced today, as Guto Inocente will take on Gian Villante and Mike Kyle squaring off with newcomer Dion Staring.

Also, Strikeforce confirmed Caros Fodor vs. Josh Thomson and Quinn Mulhern vs. Jorge Santiago are now official for the event.

‘Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy’ will take place on Sept. 29 from Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento, Calif.

MFC 35: Nelson set for showdown with Spencer

Maximum Fighting Championships has confirmed a bout to launch its featherweight division.

“Sugar” Shane Nelson will square off with Canadian prospect Graham Spencer at MFC 35: Explosive Encounter later this year.

MFC 35 takes place on Oct. 26 from the Mayfield Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The event will air live on AXS TV.

Tickets for the event can be purchased from the MFC hotline.
