Vitor Belfort steps up to face Jon Jones

Dan Henderson’s injury and removal from the Sept. 1 UFC 151 was announced onThursday. The UFC failed to fill the spot with Chael Sonnen or Lyoto Machida and the entire event was scrapped.

Vitor Belfort will be taken off his scheduled UFC 153 fight with Alan Belcher to move up in weight and fight the champion.

Jones vs. Belfort will take place at UFC 152 on Sept. 22 for the UFC light heavyweight title.

Two bouts added to UFC on Fuel 6

Two fights expected to take place at UFC 151 have a new home. Bantamweights Takeya Mizugaki and Jeff Hougland and flyweights Yasuhiro Urushitani and John Lineker square off respectively.

UFC on Fuel 6 can be seen Nov. 10.

Sean Pierson replaces Dan Miller at UFC 152

Dan Miller is off the UFC 152 so that his son can receive a kidney transplant. As such, Lance Benoist now meets Sean Pierson.

This welterweight fight will take place on the events preliminary card.

Lightweight bout added to UFC on FX 5

Dennis Hallman and Thiago Tavares were originally scheduled to meet at UFC 151 but the fight is now taking place at the Oct. 5 event.

Heavyweights Travis Browne meets Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in the night’s main event.
