Three more fights announced for UFC on Fox 5

Look no further than UFC on Fox 5 for the most recent TUF champion to make his return to the Octagon as Michael Chiesa will take on Rafaello Olivera at the event.  Chiesa choked out Al Iaquinta back in June, while Olivera earned his first promotional victory at UFC 148.

Another matchup was announced as bantamweights Scott Jorgensen and John Albert will clash at the event.

It was also revealed that the fight between Eddie Yagin and Dennis Siver that was scheduled for UFC 151 has been moved to this event.

UFC on Fox 5 is scheduled to take place in Seattle on Dec. 8.

TUF fighters revealed

On Sept. 14, the new season of the UFC’s reality show, The Ultimate Fighter, will premiere.  It had been announced for quite some time that the fighters taking part would be fighting in the welterweight division, and that the coaches would be Shane Carwin and Roy Nelson.  Today, the UFC revealed the 32 fighters that will participate in this seasons show.

The Ultimate Fighter airs on Friday, Sept. 14 and the episode will feature 16 elimination bouts in which the fighters will try to earn a spot in the house.  The Finale of the season will air on Dec. 15 and will feature a coaches fight between Carwin and Nelson, along with a fight to determine the next winner of the reality series.

All ONE FC fighters on weight

This morning, all 22 fighters stepped onto the scale and successfully made weight for their fight at ONE FC 5.  The night will be highlighted by top ranked bantamweight Bibiano Fernandes, along with the fourth fight between Andrei Arlovski and Tim Sylvia.  The card also hosts UFC veterans Jens Pulver, Rolles Gracie, and Phil Baroni.  Strikeforce and Bellator veteran Igor Gracie are also on the card.

New additions to “Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy”

Three new fights have been reveled on the next Strikeforce card.

Cat Zingano was revealed to be signed by the promotion and will take on Amanda Nunes in a bantamweight fight at the event.  Zingano holds a record of 6-0 with three victories by knockout.  Nunes is 7-2 in her career and 1-0 in Strikeforce.

Nah-Shon Burrell will take on Yuri Villefort in a welterweight contest.  Burrell recently knocked out Chris Spang while Villefort returns to action after a two-year layoff as a result of injuries.

The third fight added to the card will be Jorge Gurgel against Mizuto Hiorta.

“Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy” will take place on Sept. 29 in Sacramento, Calif.

BAMMA USA Badbeat 7 main event announced

BAMMA USA, a promotion out of Southern California, announced the main event for their upcoming event, Badbeat 7 today.

Two Strikeforce veterans will square off as Virgil Zwicker will take on Mike Cook.  Zwicker holds a professional record of 10-3 while Cook is 12-10.

Badbeat 7 takes place at The Commerce Casino in Commerce, Calif.
