Cormier vs. Mir at Nov. 3 Strikeforce Event

We knew that the two heavyweights would clash in the near future, but Strikeforce has officially released the information that Heavyweight Grand Prix Champion Daniel Cormier will take on former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir on Nov. 3.

Under the Zuffa banner, Mir will be the first fighter to transition from the UFC to fight in Strikeforce.  After this fight, Strikeforce will officially close it’s heavyweight division, and all fighters will be absorbed into the UFC’s heavyweight division.

Additionally, middleweight champion Luke Rockhold will defend his title for the third time against Lorenz Larkin at the same event.  In July, Rockhold successfully defended the title against Tim Kennedy by unanimous decision, while Larkin defeated Robbie Lawler by unanimous decision on the same card.

Strikeforce: Cormier vs. Mir will take place in Oklahoma City, Okla.
