Tickets on sale this week for Nov. 3’s Strikeforce: Cormier vs. Mir

This Friday, the general public will have their chance to purchase their tickets for Strikeforce: Cormier vs. Mir, which emanates on Nov. 3 live from Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Ticket prices range from $30 to $150, plus additional fees. Though tickets will be made to the general public at 11 .A.M EST Friday, UFC Fight Club members will have first dibs on their purchases come Wednesday morning at 11A.M. EST, while on line subscriber to the UFC e-newsletter and Strikeforce Insider newsletter will get their chance to purchase their tickets Thursday morning at 11 A.M. EST.

The card featured contest will showcase undefeated Strikeforce phenom Daniel Cormier as he takes on former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir. The card also features the fourth defense of the Strikeforce middleweight championship as challenger Lorenz “The Monsoon” Larkin aims to wrest the belt from reigning kingpin Luke Rockhold.

Banuelos vs. Benoit among fights slated to shape LFC 16

Former UFC and WEC bantamweight Antonio Banuelos is set for his return to Legacy Fighting Championships , which will come live from Allen Events Center in Allen, Texas at Legacy Fighitng 16 on Dec. 14.  Welcoming Banuelos back into the Legacy cage is Ryan Benoit, a 5-1 prospect who has already madewaves in Legacy FC with wins over Cody Williams and Randy Villareal. Though Banuelos will look to revamp his career in the flyweight division, his bout with Benoit will take place at the catchweigh tof 130 pounds.

Also featured on this card will be a rematch between bantamweights Matt Hobar and Steven Peterson. Peterson is a veteran of Bellator Fighting Championships, having gone 2-0 in the promotion, and he is 5-1 in his last six bouts—which includes a first-round TKO victory over Hobar, who suffered an arm injury in the bout with Peterson.

Two-time Bellator veteran Chad Leonhardt also makes his return to Legacy FC on Dec. 14 as he aims to snap the three-fight win streak of Charles Byrd. In addition, XKO veteran Alex Russ—whose only pro defeat came in his most recent bout against LFC 16 co-headliner Peterson—will enter LFC in order to attempt to get back in the winner’s circle, but standing in his path is undefeated Octagon MMA prospect Klayton Mai, who is a teammate of LFC 16 co-headliner Hobar.

LFC 16 will air live on AXS TV, and the night’s main event is a scheduled five rounds of action for the inaugural Legacy flyweight title, with WEC and UFC vet Will Campuzano facing Jimmy Flick.

Joe Warren looking to return at 135 pounds, says Rebney

Former Bellator featherweight champion Joe Warren is currently riding a two-fight losing streak after losing his belt to Pat Curran, but he now has his next move mapped out. Despite a knockout loss to Alexis Vila at 135 pounds, Warren will look to the bantamweight division for his return to fighting form. It is not known who will welcome Warren back to the 135-pound division at this time.

TNA contract nixes Kurt Angle’s involvement in WSOF 1

Former WWE and TNA world champion Kurt Angle was scheduled to join MMA legend “El Guapo” Bas Rutten and “The Voice” Michael Schiavello on commentary for the inaugural event showcase of “Sugar” Ray Sefo’s World Series of Fighting. The event will still take place at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Nov. 3 and will still air live on NBC Sports Network—formerly Versus. However, Angle will not be a part of the event due to a “conflict of interest”, and Sefo has said that a replacement is yet to be named for Angle. Schiavello and Rutten will still call the action for the event.
