UFC 152 Medical Suspensions Released

UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones along Roger Hollet, Charles Oliveira, Simeon Thoresen, and Charlie Brenneman all received indefinite medical suspensions following their fights at UFC 152.

The full list of medical suspensions is:

Jon Jones: Suspended indefinitely; needs medical clearance pending X-ray of right arm

Vitor Belfort: Suspended 30 days for laceration over eye

Demetrious Johnson: Suspended 14 days

Joseph Benavidez: Suspended 30 days for laceration over left eye

Michael Bisping: Suspended 14 days

Brian Stann: Suspended 14 days

Matt Hamill: Suspended 14 days

Roger Hollett: Suspended 30 days for precautionary reasons and indefinitely for left hand, which requires medical clearance pending X-ray

Cub Swanson: Suspended 14 days

Charles Oliveira: Suspended 60 days for precautionary reasons and indefinitely pending medical clearance from CT and MRI scans

Vinny Magalhaes: Suspended 14 days

Igor Pokrajac: Suspended 30 days for precautionary reasons

T.J. Grant: Suspended 14 days

Evan Dunham: Suspended 60 days for deep cut on forehead

Sean Pierson: Suspended 14 days

Lance Benoist: Suspended 30 days for forehead laceration

Marcus Brimage: Suspended 14 days

Jim Hettes: Suspended 14 days

Seth Baczynski: Suspended 14 days

Simeon Thoresen: Suspended 60 days for precautionary reasons and indefinitely pending medical clearance from MRI scan

Mitch Gagnon: Suspended 14 days

Walel Watson: Suspended 14 days

Kyle Noke: Suspended 14 days

Charlie Brenneman: Suspended 60 days for precautionary reasons and indefinitely pending medical clearance from MRI scan

Strikeforce Plans to Compensate Fighters

19 fighters are scheduled to be compensated by Strikeforce after the promotion cancelled its’ upcoming event due to the injury to Gilber Melendez. Exact financial numbers are of course not available due to the private nature of Zuffa but reports have indicated that the fighters will be taken care of.

“I cannot give you amounts because the financials involved are private, but I can tell you that Zuffa is taking very good care of Jorge Santiago and Yuri Villefort,” said Authentic Sports Management publicist Jen Wenk in a statement.

Andrei Arlovski vs. Devin Cole Set to Headline World Series of Fighting 1

Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski has agreed to fight former Strikeforce vet Devin Cole in the main event of World Series Fighting 1. The WSOF 1 event is scheduled to take place on Nov. 3 at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Also expected on the card are Miguel Torres, Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante, Gerald Harris, and Rolles Gracie.

Joey Beltran vs. Anthony Perosh Added to UFC on FX 6

Joey Beltran and Anthony Perosh have agreed to fight one another on the UFC on FX 6 card on Dec. 14. The event will be the season finale for The Ultimate Fighter: Australia vs. U.K. season and is scheduled to feature Ross Pierson and George Sotiropoulos.

Beltran lost his light heavyweight debut in the UFC against James Te Huna back in July but displayed his trademark toughness in taking a number of powerful shots. The last time Perosh was inside the Octagon he was on the receiving end of a seven second KO at the hands of Ryan Jimmo at UFC 149.
