On Friday, Oct. 5, the UFC held its fifth installment of its FX broadcast events from the Target Center in Minneapolis. It marked the promotion’s first visit to Minnesota since UFC 87, which took place from the same venue.

Also veteran welterweight Jay Hieron returned to the promotion to face off with knockout artist Jake Ellenberger and hard-nosed Josh Neer battled Justin Edwards.
An additional eight fights filled the night’s preliminary card, which was split between a Fuel TV broadcast and Facebook/YouTube stream.
