On Saturday, Oct. 13, the UFC hosted UFC 153 from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The event marked the promotion’s third trip to the venue, all in the last 18 months.

The night’s top billing featured middleweight champion Anderson Silva competing at light heavyweight for the third time in his career against The Ultimate Fighter veteran Stephan Bonnar. The fight was a non-title affair.

In addition to the light heavyweight main event, the main card also featured former heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira facing Dave Herman and a pair of rising Brazilian light heavyweights, Fabio Maldonado and Glover Teixeira, who battled for their place in the 205-pound ladder.
