The champion Jones opens at -925 while Sonnen opens at +625. As the fight draws closer, the odds may draw closer as well.

Anthony Pettis vs. Donald Cerrone targeted for January

Former WEC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis continues to rehab the shoulder injury that sidelined him after his UFC 144 victory over Joe Lauzon, but Pettis can look forward to January for his next fight if all goes well. If Pettis’ rehab goes as well as expected, Pettis and Cerrone will meet on a late January card that will unfold and reach its finalization stages over time.

After his stunning KO victory over Patricky Freire, Eddie Alvarez is a free agent. However, before he makes his next move, he won’t rule out a re-up with Bjorn Rebney and Bellator Fighting Championships. With odds of a one-off fight with Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez looking slim, Alvarez will speak to Viacom executives before making a final decision as to whether he will re-up with the company or sign with another company.
