Phil Davis replaces Chael Sonnen against Forrest Griffin

With Chael Sonnen being selected to face Jon Jones on April 27, his UFC155 foe, Forrest Griffin, was left without an opponent.

Today the UFC announced that Phil Davis, fresh off a dominant UFC 153 submission of Wagner Prado, would step in to face the former light heavyweight champion.

UFC 155 takes place on Dec. 29 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The pay-per-view event will be headlined by a heavyweight championship rematch between current champion Junior dos Santos and former champ Cain Velasquez. Davis-Griffin is expected to serve as the co-main event.
