Dream 18 to take place on New Year’s Eve

It was announced that the Japanese MMA promotion Dream was officially dead earlier this year.  Despite this, the promotion still has a heartbeat as Glory Sports International has announced that they will revive the promotion for an event on New Year’s Eve.  “DREAM 18 – Special NYE 2012″ will be hosted by GSI at the Saitama Super Arena on Dec. 31

The event will feature both MMA and kickboxing fights, the same way that the New Year’s Eve event traditionally has.  There will be 10 MMA fights and three kickboxing fights.

While there are officially no opponents announced, it is expected that featherweights Hiroyuki Takaya and Tatsuya Kawajiri, along with lightweight Satoru Kitaoka will appear on the card.
