UFC’s Nick Diaz unsuccessful in bid to have NSAC suspension, fine overturned

Nick Diaz’s punishment for testing positive for marijuana metabolites following his loss to Carlos Condit in May will stand.

On Friday, a Nevada judge tossed out the case, meaning Diaz’s yearlong suspension and $79,500 fine will remain.

The lawyer of the welterweight, Ross Goodman, attempted to fight the suspension in July, but was unsuccessful following today’s news. However, Diaz will be able to apply for a new fighter’s license when his suspension is up on Feb. 4.

Rumors have been swirling that Diaz will fight welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre in Montreal on March 16, but nothing is official yet.
