The total payroll was $1.261 million which was offset by a $3.286 million live gate. The number do not include any deductions for insurance, licenses or taxes and do not include any sponsorship or bonuses. Chris Cariaso: $12,000 Source: MMA Junkie Bellator reveals Season Eight light heavyweight tournament bracket As Bellator moves to Spike TV in 2013, the promotion is making their tournament structure more transparent to its viewers by revealing the bracket for its upcoming light heavyweight tournament that kicks off on Jan. 17. The first event of season eight will take place from the Bren Center in Irvine, Calif. In the main event, Bellator featherweight champion Pat Curran will defend his title against Patricio “Pitbull” Freire, while lightweight kingpin Michael Chandler will battle Rick Hawn. The night will also host the start of the light heavyweight tournament with Renato “Babalu” Sobral taking on Mikhail Zayats, Seth Petruzelli facing Jacob Noe and Emanuel Newton faces Atanas Djambazov. The fourth bout featuring Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal and Przemyslaw Mysiala will take place Jan. 24. Both fighters will be making their promotional debut at the event. Castillo had a seven-fight undefeated streak snapped in his last outing against UFC vet Justin Buchholz, while Southern enters the contest on a three-fight winning streak that includes a submission win over MFC title challenger Mukai Maramo.
