UFC 155 medical suspensions

Fourteen combatants from the Dec. 29 UFC 155 in Las Vegas have received medical suspensions from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The full list includes:
Cain Velasquez: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
Junior Dos Santos: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
Joe Lauzon: suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days for facial and forehead lacerations
Tim Boetsch: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days; also suspended 180 days unless nasal fractures are cleared by ENT doctor
Alan Belcher: suspended 60 days with no contact; also suspended 180 days unless right jaw and right knee are cleared by doctors
Eddie Wineland: suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days for lacerations
Brad Pickett: suspended 21 days with no contact for 14 days
Byron Bloodworth: suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days for a scalp laceration
Jamie Varner: suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days
Melvin Guillard: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days for a right shin laceration
Michael Johnson: suspended 21 days with no contact for 14 days for a right ear laceration; also suspended 180 days unless right hand is cleared by doctor
Todd Duffee: suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days for a right forehead laceration; also suspended 180 days unless left knee is cleared by doctor
Philip De Fries: suspended 21 days with no contact for 14 days
Leonard Garcia: suspended 21 days with no contact for 14 days

UFC 155 salaries

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has revealed the disclosed salaries of UFC 155. The total payroll was $1.261 million which was offset by a $3.286 million live gate.

The number do not include any deductions for insurance, licenses or taxes and do not include any sponsorship or bonuses. The promotion gave out $65,000 bonuses to Todd Duffee, John Moraga, and Jim Miller and Joe Lauzon.

Bellator reveals Season Eight light heavyweight tournament bracket

As Bellator moves to Spike TV in 2013, the promotion is making their tournament structure more transparent to its viewers by revealing the bracket for its upcoming light heavyweight tournament that kicks off on Jan. 17.

The first event of season eight will take place from the Bren Center in Irvine, Calif. In the main event, Bellator featherweight champion Pat Curran will defend his title against Patricio “Pitbull” Freire, while lightweight kingpin Michael Chandler will battle Rick Hawn.

The night will also host the start of the light heavyweight tournament with Renato “Babalu” Sobral taking on Mikhail Zayats, Seth Petruzelli facing Jacob Noe and Emanuel Newton faces Atanas Djambazov. The fourth bout featuring Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal and Przemyslaw Mysiala will take place Jan. 24.

 

XFC 22 fight card takes shape

On Feb. 22, Xtreme Fighting Championships will visit Charlotte, NC and the Grady Cole Center for XFC 22: Crossing the Line. The event will air live on AXS TV at 10 p.m. ET.

MFC 36 adds Castillo vs. Southern

Lightweights Dave Castillo and Kurt Southern are set to lock horns on Feb. 15 at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta.

Both fighters will be making their promotional debut at the event. Castillo had a seven-fight undefeated streak snapped in his last outing against UFC vet Justin Buchholz, while Southern enters the contest on a three-fight winning streak that includes a submission win over MFC title challenger Mukai Maramo.

The event will air live on AXS TV.
